POSITION PURPOSE Senior Backup Engineer has responsibility to lead design engineering and implementation of backup infrastructure within Tsystems This position is responsible for maintaining and providing escalated support for the backup environment Senior Backup Engineer will work with other storage and backup subject matter experts within the team and offshore resource to deliver backup services to TSystems customers Maintaining the backup infrastructure and the software stack current and at supportable levels within TSytems guidelines capacity analysis forecasting are some of the responsibilities of this position ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement backup solutions Plan upgrades and improvements to existing backup infrastructure Provide escalated support for level 3level 4 escalation calls Maintain backup infrastructure asset inventory current Review backup infrastructure capacity performance utilization and develop capacity reports Assess and develop plan to optimize backup infrastructure improve service and automate manual tasks Establish procedures to support audit compliance Produce backup policy and procedure documentation Mentor for operational backup team members Qualifications Must have 5 years experience as Backup Administrator for distributed environments Netbackup or TSM certification is a MUST ITIL certification is a plus Strong interpersonal skills strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge Skills and Expertise Advanced knowledge of NetBackup 6x and 7x Knowledge of other enterprise backup software a plus Experienced with Virtual Tape Libraries particularly Data Domain and DPA Experienced with IBM and Quantum tape libraries Experienced with Disaster Recovery procedures and planning Familiar with Storage Area Networks (SAN) Familiar withEnterpriseStorage Arrays and Network Attached Storage (NAS) Source: http://www.jobs2careers.com/click.php?id=309848198.96
